Nine Ways to Ignite Innovation Inside Your Company

Some really good (yet simple) ideas here which could be useful for any type of organisation. Just amazes me that some of the basic principles outlined here are not utilised.

Unfortunately I think this is much to do with inept middle/senior management who are more concerned about protecting their jobs than actually improving the business that they work in.

Whole Foods Market Walks The Talk

Tagged Under : energy reduction, retailer energy management, solar in retail

Whole Foods Market is a US based retailer of natural and organic grocery products.

It appears to have a genuine commitment to energy/emissions reduction and no doubt will see the benefits of this going forward.

A few Australian retailers should take note. Any Company that doesn’t start investing now in energy management will pay the price down the track for sure.

Solar So Good

Tagged Under : australian solar, solar power, solar technology

Surely here in Australia with the abundance of sunlight and space the most practical energy solution is Solar.

Australian’s have always been at the forefront of solar innovation yet we need to ensure this becomes commercially viable and that our skills are not necessarily lost overseas through lack of local investment.

New technologies are constantly being trialled which will hopefully ensure solar becomes a cost efficient alternative to emissions intensive coal powered electricity.

Below are a number of links showing some recent Solar developments.

Wire Not

I think it is fair to say that the wire hanger has had its day. Not only annoying but pretty bad for the environment. TV antennas have also progressed to the point where we dont really need a spare in the cupboard. Would really like to see the green hanger in a few more dry cleaners.

Safe Ladder to Climb

Ok so I am a little afraid of heights, but I was walking past a house the other day and was sure the bloke doing some renovating was about to take a tumble. Given he was pretty big I thought I was about as much chance of catching him as Sixty Minutes is of providing insightful Sunday night viewing. Suggested he give this a go and recommend anyone planning on climbing a ladder in the near future does as well.
